Vlog on for a tour
American travel vlogger Gabriel Morris is doing a fantastic series on traveling around North Cyprus. You can catch him right now on YouTube, but this is what he has been up to so far …
Gabriel Traveler (Gabriel Morris) has been wandering around the world for over three decades, visiting five continents and more than eighty countries. He is author of “Following My Thumb”, “Gabe’s Guide to Budget Travel” and several other books available on Amazon.com. He posts videos regularly chronicling his adventures and provides practical travel info and tips for travelers.
He approached North Cyprus on foot from the Ledra Street crossing, which he describes as “super quick, super easy, no waiting.” A 30 Euro taxi ride takes him to Kyrenia where he settles into an old town hotel near the harbour and enjoys the views from the rooftop.
The hotel he pronounces, is “really cool, staff are friendly and a great location.”
He is impressed by ancient architecture but disappointed to discover that the harbour itself is closed for renovation. Kyrenia though is “a pretty, peaceful, relaxing, nice town.”
“Here on the sea, you can go for boat tours. There is tourism here and a lot to see in the country in general, The mountains here are very spectacular.”
To prove the point, this seasoned traveller visits St. Hilarion, “just incredible, one of the most amazing castles I have ever visited, the way it is set out on this ridge, such a dramatic setting. The views are some of the best in the world from here!
He then heads off to the Karpaz in his hire car… and you can follow him …
